physical therapist?

I’m looking for a personal trainer that is a physical therapist. I want to start weight training. I have a bad back three bacd disks and bad knees. I was told by my doctor to get a private physical therapist to go to the gym with me…I line in Indianapolis.

I am a Physical Therapist and I also do personal training. I have never gone to the persons gym, they come to mine. If often give discounts to former patients of mine that want to continue on and want personal training or come back and want it.

Also contrary to public belief a physical therapist and personal trainer are not the same thing. As a physical therapist we have extensive training that now requires either a Masters or Doctorate degree. If you are a PT you do not have to get a personal training certification (although many do) as PT’s already have the education and background to perform these services. A personal trainer does not have to necessarily have any education although many places require them to be at least 18 and take a certification test that you can do online. (I am not trying to bash personal trainers as there are many many good ones out there. I just get irritated when they try to pass off themselves as being a PT.)
